What is Network Monitoring?

Network Monitoring is a service Intrinsic offer to customers who require their estate’s network to be monitored and availability to be maximised via response to monitoring alerts or client escalation.

This is a reactive service, with Intrinsic responding to an incoming email, call or monitoring-generated alert.

Who is this designed for?
This service is designed for customers who have skills within their organisation to govern and manage their network but require a third party to provide a higher level of technical ability. It’s also beneficial to those customers who wish to train staff to the level of supporting their infrastructure and would gain from having a senior body manage it in the interim.

What does the service actually offer?
Intrinsic will support your estate in a break/fix capacity. Our monitoring platform (powered by SolarWinds) will be deployed, providing up/down alerts to us and/or you, allowing reactive incident resolution.

What other services might be of benefit?

You may also wish to consider using our People as a Service. This allows you to pre-pay (and benefit from a discount) for our Professional Services. These Professional Services could include installs, moves, adds, changes and deletions (IMACDs), and the installation of monitoring and availability. You should think about adding unsupported devices to a Support or Support Plus contract.

What are the dependencies?

  • An Asset Management service to allow the software reports to be created
  • You will also be required to supply a Virtual Server
  • SNMP and SSH strings
  • Details of the IP ranges within your estate where devices may reside
  • Remote connectivity for the installation of the software and the collection of the data
